What is Origami Basanta Bahar 2026?
Origami Basanta Bahar 2026 is a grand, state-level online event hosted by Origami Ventures to celebrate art, heritage, and community during the vibrant spring festival of Bohag. We are hosting two primary competitions: Hues of Bohag (an online drawing competition) and Heritage in Smiles (a kids' ethnic modeling photo contest).
What are the important dates I need to remember?

What prizes and recognitions can I win?

Every participant is a star! All valid entries receive a guaranteed Digital Certificate of Participation and a ₹1,500 Creative Encouragement Voucher.

For the winners, the Top 3 champions across all 6 groups will receive a Trophy, a Certificate of Excellence, and a share of a ₹60,000 cash prize pool:

  • 1st Prize: ₹5,000
  • 2nd Prize: ₹3,000
  • 3rd Prize: ₹2,000

Additionally, the Top 50 artworks and Top 50 photographs from each category will be featured in our exclusive Global Showcase Online Gallery. We will also honor mentors, photographers, and highly participating schools with special awards (Origami ShilpaGuru, KalaDristi, and KalaSajagata Awards).

The event is open to anyone currently residing in or originating from Assam.
What are the age groups and themes for the 'Hues of Bohag' Drawing Competition?

The drawing competition is open to students from Nursery all the way to adults!

  • Group A (Nursery to Class 1): Theme is "Kopou Phul" (or any flower you like)
  • Group B (Class 2 to Class 4): Theme is "The Vibrant Spring Landscapes of Assam"
  • Group C (Class 5 to Class 7): Theme is "A Spring Festival of Assam (Bohagi Utsav)"
  • Group D / Open Canvas (Class 8 & above, including adults): Theme is "Zubeen Garg & Bohag – The Eternal Melody"
Heritage in Smiles (Kids' Ethnic Modeling Photo Contest)?
This photo contest is open to children from Nursery to Class 7. There are two categories: Radiant Rupohis (Girls' Edition) and Dashing Dekas (Boys' Edition). The theme for both is the traditional attire of any community in Assam.
Can I submit more than one entry?
Yes! A single participant may submit a maximum of three (3) entries in one category. However, each entry requires a separate submission form and registration fee. Please note that only one (1) submission per participant is eligible for winning a position and the guaranteed participant rewards.
How do I register and submit my entry?

Participation is completely digital and hassle-free. Just follow these steps:

  2. Fill out the official registration form with your details.
  3. Upload a clear, high-resolution photograph of the drawing or the child modeling.
  4. Pay the registration fee via our secure online payment gateway.
  5. Receive instant confirmation. Once your entry is live (within 24 hours), share your link to gather votes!
Is there a registration fee?
Yes, there is a nominal registration fee of ₹150 per entry, which can be paid securely through the portal via Razorpay.
What mediums and paper sizes are allowed for the drawing competition?
We welcome any manual, traditional medium—crayons, oil pastels, watercolors, color pencils, or acrylics. We highly recommend using standard A4 or A3 size drawing paper in either landscape or portrait orientation. Digital art, 3D renders, and AI-generated artwork are strictly prohibited.
What are the photo guidelines for the modeling contest?
The photograph must authentically showcase the child in the modest, traditional attire of a recognized community in Assam. Basic photo adjustments (brightness, contrast, cropping, color correction) are allowed. However, heavy manipulation, replacing backgrounds digitally, heavy filters, or AI-generated enhancements are strictly forbidden.
What are the file requirements for uploading my image?
Whether you are uploading a photo of a drawing or a modeling portrait, the file must be in JPEG or PNG format and strictly between 1MB and 10MB in size. Ensure the image is clear, well-lit, and completely free of any text, watermarks, shadows, or glare.
How are the winners selected?
  • Hues of Bohag (Drawing): The final score is a 70/30 blend. 70% is based on our Expert Judges' Evaluation (creativity, original interpretation of the theme, color composition, and overall visual impact), and 30% is based on Public Website Voting.
  • Heritage in Smiles (Modeling): The final score is based 100% on Public Website Voting.
How does the voting process work, and are there rules against fake votes?
Once your entry goes live, you can share a unique link with friends and family to vote on our official portals. Voting is strictly limited to one vote per verified Email/IP address per participant.
Social media likes and comments do NOT count as votes.
We have a zero-tolerance policy for manipulation. The use of bots, temporary emails, or paid voting services is strictly prohibited. If our security systems detect suspicious voting patterns, we will permanently deduct the fraudulent votes from the final tally. An entry will only be fully disqualified if there is conclusive evidence that the participant or guardian intentionally orchestrated the fake voting.
